The site was actively used by George Farmiloe & Sons until 1999 when the operations were moved to Surrey. The buildings have remained unoccupied since then, though they are frequently used as a movie set, events venue and exhibition space. One of the most important features of the Farmiloe Building is its spectacular atrium separating the front and back Victorian blocks. 3cRisk have been appointed as CDMC on the project where the proposed scheme will retain and enhance the original 1868 Farmiloe building which will be sensitively adapted to suit office use. The scheme intends to develop the site as an office led (B1 use class) scheme with an element of mixed use at ground floor and lower ground floor.
